Book two of the series picks up right where the first left off. The recap is done through a phone conversation between two supporting characters. I enjoyed this because we had a chance to see more of their personalities and get a swift catch up on events.
This goes deeper into the centaur mythology and more of their interactions with the Gods. Really great story telling and world building. It is a rich world with wonderful levels, that slowly reveal themselves.
The focus of this book is more on Cami and Drake, with their quest to find Hercules arrow, and on Bo and Daniel, with their budding friendship. Most of the mixed narrative comes from these four characters, but there are a few others tossed in here and there. It is a great device for getting into the head of many characters, making a more enriching read.
The romance heats up but still stays PG, no sexing for these two! The dynamic between Cami and Drake is always brimming with angst, but it is well done drama.
I listened to the audiobook narrated again by Teri Schnaubelt, She has a wonderful quality to her voice that suits the read. Her swift read helps move the action along. I really enjoy her voices and how distinct she keeps them. There could be a little more accent on the Southern characters, but that is nitpicking. I hope she stays with the series!
I really enjoy the way this story weaves together. I am excited to see where it headed next!!
